Birmingham Citadel Band were featured on BBC Radio this week.  Following an appearance on BBC West Midlands on Sunday 26th June 2011, BCB were featured on BBC Radio 2 which is broadcast across the UK and overseas via the internet.

 

As part of the “Brassed Off” feature, presenter Aled Jones chose to feature Birmingham Citadel Band and it was the performance of “His Provision” (Ivor Bosanko) that was chosen for the Sunday morning programme.  Aled Jones also mentioned the recent health problems of Retired Bandmaster Graham W. Lamplough and appealed for listeners to remember him in their prayers.  The choice of music was particularly appropriate in this respect as the words seem to speak directly of BM Lamplough’s recent plight.

 

The broadcast was a fantastic opportunity for BCB to continue to communicate its message through music to millions of listeners.
