he brand new Birmingham Citadel Band CD HIGH OVER ALL is out now.

12 tracks that are certain to excite, inspire, challenge and entertain are a must for your CD collection.  It features three of the band’s soloists in David Taylor (Euphonium), Neil Blessett (Tenor Horn) and Mark Sharman (Trombone) and each bring solos that add much to the contrast that this CD offers.  There are new unpublished works from the pen of Australian composer Sam Creamer in “Hold that Fort!” and the title track “High Over All” and old Salvation Army Classics such as “The Good Shepherd” and “On the King’s Highway”.  There is an exciting transcription of Saint-Saen’s “Marche Militaire Francaise” and Martin Cordner’s score “Escape Velocity” is certain to appeal to lovers of film music!  The major work for the CD is Robert Redhead’s “Corpus Christi” but perhaps the most unusual contribution to the CD is William Himes‘ entertaining work, “Jericho Revisited”.  This work is hugely entertaining but this recording has the added appeal that the composer is our narrator!

The sound engineering by Christian Lewis at Pure Technical Services is of the highest standards as is the artwork by Dave Purkiss at More Than Just Design.
