Edward Dixon was born into Birmingham Citadel Corps and progressed through the Junior Band.  Edward spent a number of years playing Solo Horn in Birmingham Citadel Band before making a very successful transition onto Eb Bass.

 

Edward works in Social Services at the Salvation Army’s Hostel for Men in Birmingham as Centre Manager and is a member of Birmingham Citadel Songsters at the corps.  Edward holds the position of Assistant Young People’s Sergeant Major.

Current Employment: Salvation Army Hostel Centre Manager (William Booth Centre, Birmingham)

Hobbies: Watching Sport, Reading

Favourite Food: Chinese

Favourite Band Piece: Too many.....so much great music!

Andrew Dickinson completed a Masters in Planning and a BA (Hons.) in Town and Regional Planning at Sheffield University and then returned to the Midlands.  He is a product of the Young People’s Corps at Birmingham Citadel having progressed through the Junior Band with whom he featured as a soloist on many occasions.

Andrew is proud to be a member of the International Staff Band (Principal Horn) of the Salvation Army as well as being Solo Horn in Birmingham Citadel Band.

Andrew has also played with bands including Carlton Main Frickley Band and Cornerstone Brass (both as Principal Horn).

Current Employment: Music Specialist for the Salvation Army (THQ)
Hobbies: Classic cars, Cricket and National Trust touring.
Favourite Food: My Mother’s Sunday Roast and my wife's stuffed peppers.

David Richardson arrived at Birmingham Citadel in 1969 just in time for the Christmas carolling programme.  He has held the position of Principal Eb Bass in Birmingham Citadel Band for many years.  He originally comes from Stroud in Gloucestershire and is the son of Salvation Army officers.

 

David has performed throughout the UK abroad with the Birmingham Citadel Band and has even appeared on Television in the series Dalziel and Pascoe with a group of other BCB bandsmen.  David is currently the Librarian for BCB.

 

David has been married to his wife Carole for 35 years in 2009 and has two sons, both of whom work in I.T.

Current Employment: Retired

Hobbies: Football (Birmingham City) and Caravanning

Favourite Food: Lots!.......especially a good Curry

Favourite Film: Not a regular film watcher but never forgotten The Killing Fields

Favourite Band Piece: Resurgam and Bill Himes’ All that I Am from the newer library
