Birmingham Citadel Band were at the Festive Gift Fair 2009 for 4 days last week.  Small ensembles from the band played Christmas music to literally thousands of people who visited the NEC.  BCB also “drafted in” retired members of the band to play on the Thursday and Friday, and they showed great stamina as it had been a number of years since these bandsmen had played regularly. 

 

The band were, as always, very well received.  All the usual comments such as “now I’ve heard the Salvation Army Band, it feels like Christmas!” were heard.

This event proved to be a great start to the 2009 Christmas programme for the band as they proclaimed to many thousands of people the real message of Christmas.
