The West Midlands Division sponsored two Kenyan musicians to visit England and this trip included attending a Birmingham Citadel Band rehearsal. The previous weekend they had been in attendance a the Divisional Musicians Councils at Birmingham Conservatoire’s Adrian Boult Hall and so it was a great opportunity to attend a rehearsal with BCB.
The African Salvationists played with the band, were interviewed, answered questions from BCB bandsmen and even had the opportunity to conduct the band. The Bandmaster presented them both with BCB CDs, a souvenir brochure and other pieces of memorabilia to take home. As the Africans thanked the band for the welcome shown, they invited BCB to Kenya where they would be guaranteed a very warm welcome.
