Birmingham Citadel Band featured in a programme of Salvation Army Brass Band music this evening.  “Sounds of Brass” is broadcast on BBC Radio every Sunday evening and in recent weeks has featured music from the Black Dyke Band and Buy as You View Cory, but on Sunday 30th May the programme featured three fine Salvation Army bands.

Producer Philip Hunt chose to play two tracks from the Birmingham Citadel Band’s latest CD “Spirit of Joy”.  Dean Goffin’s “Symphony of Thanksgiving” and Bert Langworthy’s Cornet Solo “Heavenly Gales” featuring Principal Cornet Gavin Lamplough were the chosen pieces for the broadcast.

Also on the programme were the Hendon and Bristol Easton Salvation Army Bands.  Two BCB bandsmen were playing with Bristol Easton as Gavin Lamplough played Soprano Cornet and Daniel Robson Solo Cornet on their recent recording.  The programme represented the excellent playing of Salvation Army Bands everywhere.
