BCB IN SWITZERLAND - DAY 0, 27TH MAY: THE VAN LEAVES AHEAD OF THE BAND

Daily Blog

God loves a willing volunteer and in the absence of any of those, Band sergeants Ian Kershaw and Rob O'Connor took on the job of driving the instruments to Zurich.

Ian left home at 05:20, picked Rob up and after a smooth journey we arrived at the Channel Tunnel dead on time - and joined a 30 minute queue to get checked in.

Once we arrived in France we took heed of warnings about fuel shortages and turned left towards Belgium.

The built in satnav seemed to have a strange sense of direction and so we had to override her directions on several occasions, also avoiding snarl ups in Belgium and Luxembourg after we were tricked into a detour by Lady TomTom.

Once in Germany we made swift progress most of the time and arrived safely in the evening at a hotel about 90 minutes from Zurich, meaning we have much shorter journey tomorrow.

We are looking forward to joining up with the band on Saturday and meeting Salvationists in Switzerland for a great time of Mission and Music.
