“A night at the Proms” - Birmingham Citadel Salvation Army.

The annual “Proms Night” was eagerly anticipated as a large crowd gathered at Birmingham Citadel for an evening of music, reminiscence and celebrations.

The first “away weekend” of 2014 saw BCB visiting two towns in Greater Manchester.  On the Saturday evening the band was delighted to be back in the beautiful hall at Sale and then on the Sunday the band made the short trip to Stockport.

BCB held it’s first “open rehearsal” of 2014 and were delighted with a phenomenal turn out!

BCB join forces with Jaguar Land Rover Band in tribute

Birmingham Citadel Band joined forces with the Coventry based Jaguar Land Rover Band (MD Dave Lea) as the two bands offered a musical tribute to a mutual friend, colleague and bandsman.

BCB was delighted to be back at Hasbury Church in Halesowen, nearly 8 years since the last visit.

Only weeks after being the guest band at the Rotary Celebration in Anglican Cathedral in Birmingham, BCB found itself being the guest band for an event much closer to home.

BCB was delighted to be back at Symphony Hall, Birmingham for the British Open band contest once again.  It is an opportunity that the band enjoys and counts it a privilege to play to the thousands that gather for this special day in the banding calendar.

The band made the trip to Luton for the first time to play a concert in the modern suite of buildings at the Salvation Army.

Friday 10th and Saturday 11th October 2014

 

The band was back in the recording studio this weekend with three sessions in two days spent recording tracks for the new CD which is due out in December.

Stowmarket SA

BCB enjoyed a fabulous weekend in Stowmarket and enjoyed the wonderful preparations that had been made by the hosts from the minute they arrived.

Birmingham Citadel Band took part in the annual Remembrance parade and service in Birmingham City Centre, in the shadow of the Symphony Hall and the new library.

BCB hosted it’s annual rehearsal with a number of visitors joining with us for the first time.  It was also good to see some familiar faces.
